CARMEN CHACON, Industrial designer

With twenty years of experience as an Industrial Designer, Chacon’s innovative designs encompass a spectrum of products, including complex medical imaging equipment, wireless devices such as cell phones, hand-held FR products, communications docking stations, optical links, battery charging stations, holsters and other proprietary computer accessories. On a grander scale, Chacon has designed exercise equipment and tanning beds, as well as the interior of the Boeing 757 flight deck, and conceptual design for flight galleys of the future.

At this time, Chacon is working with a Medical Company on a portable ultrasound device.

Chacon’s focus is always on usability, human factors, user testing, ergonomics and market research. Her mode is collaborative, as she coordinates her innovative design ideas with engineering teams in order to create a product that is manufacturable and cost effective.
